Protect your table tops with this attractive glass jacket which is made in favourite shell stitch. You will need one ball each of watermelon and metallic blue ( or any desired color ) J. & P. Coats Knit- Cro- Sheen. Use a steel crochet hook size 6.

St ( stitch ) sk ( skip )
Sl st ( slip stitch ) rnd (round) )
Sc ( single crochet )
lp ( loop )
Inc ( increase )
Bottom: With metallic blube, start at center with ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in second ch st from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 3: * 2 sc in next sc for one inc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc and work 6 inc evenly spaced in rnd.
All remaining rnds of bottom: Work as for rnd 4 until piece measures same size as bottom glass, sl st in next sc.
Side: Rnd 1: Sl st in next sc, sc in back lp of each sc around, sl st in top of first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in same place with sl st, * sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, sk 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc for a shell. Repeat from * around end with 2 dc in same place with first 2 dc, sl st in top of ch 3. Drop blue.
Rnd 3: Pick up watermelon, sc in same place with sl st, * 5 dc in next sc, sc in center dc if next shell. Repeat from * around sl st in first sc. Drop watermelon.
Rnd 4: Pick up metallic blue, ch 3, 2 dc in sl st base ch, * sc in center dc of next shell, 5 dc in next sc. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 dc at base of first sc, sl st in top of ch 3. Drop metallic blue.
Rnd 5: Repeat rnd 3.
Rnd 6: Repeat rnd 4.
Rnd 7: Repeat rnd 3.
Rnd 8: Repeat rnd 4.
Rnd 9: Repeat rnd 3. Fasten off.
Rnd 10: Pick up metallic blue, sl st in back lp of each st around, sl st in first sl st. Fasten off.
